A client from here in Valparaiso, Indiana, brought his 2016 Ford Raptor to Cartronix for an audio system upgrade. We had a listen to the existing system and talked to the client to qualify what he liked about it and what he wanted to upgrade. Based on the information he provided, we designed a new system that would meet his goals.
We started by constructing a subwoofer enclosure that fits under the rear bench seat of the truck. The enclosure is home to a pair of Sony GS-series 10-inch subwoofers. We finished the enclosure in a gray carpet to match the floor carpet. Behind the enclosure, under the seat back, is a custom amp rack with a pair of Sony GS-Series amps mounted to it. An XM-GS100 powers the subwoofers while a four-channel XM-GS4 powers the front speakers. We used a PAC AP4-FD21 interface to extract a preamp signal from the factory head unit and a MESA amp kit and interconnects to wire up the truck. We installed Sony GS-Series components in the front and coaxial speakers in the rear factory locations.
The client loves the new system.
